Heather ElamResidential Coordinator Employer: University of Evansville Major: International Studies, Political Science Minor: Graduation Year: 2006 Other Education: Geographic Region: Evansville, Indiana BiographyThroughout my time at UE I was very involved in student life and loved every moment of it. After graduating I considered the possibility of a career in student affairs and fortunately an opportunity at UE arose. As a Residential Coordinator I have been able to utilize all the skills and experiences that I learned and pass them on. I am a member of the Association for College and University Housing Officials International (ACUHO-I) and Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers. What I love about my jobI love working with the students and seeing them grow. Plus there are so many professional development opportunities; it really is endless. My advice to people considering this fieldYou really have to love higher education and the students. If you're remotely interested, you should get involved in student organizations and student leadership opportunities. Get to know the staff and administration, they can be amazing mentors!
